Hi, I'm Steph—founder of Story Hollow and Sweethearts, and a lifelong believer that the right book can change everything.

Sweethearts was born from an unexpected opportunity and a community that welcomed us with open arms. After the incredible support Story Hollow received in Madisonville, so many readers from Sweetwater told us they wished they had a bookstore of their own. When the perfect space became available on Main Street, we realized there was an opportunity to do more than open a second location—we could create something completely unique.

Sweethearts is East Tennessee's romance bookstore. Whether you love sweet love stories, contemporary romance, romantasy, historical romance, or books that turn up the heat, we wanted to create a place where romance readers feel seen, celebrated, and completely at home. It's a bookstore built around one of the most beloved genres in publishing, where happily ever afters fill the shelves and every reader can find their next obsession.

Like Story Hollow, Sweethearts is a family dream. My husband, Chris, our three children, and our extended family have poured countless hours into creating spaces where people can gather, discover new favorite authors, and build lasting friendships through books. Community has always been at the heart of everything we do, and Sweetwater has embraced that vision from the very beginning.
